Challenge for Credit Overview

The Challenge for Credit process allows you to demonstrate that you have acquired a command of the general subject matter, knowledge, intellectual and/or other skills that would normally be found in a university-level course.

Full information about Challenge for Credit can be found in the Undergraduate Calendar.

Challenge Evaluation

To receive credit for the FREN 200 challenge registration, you must achieve a grade of at least D (50 percent) on the written examination. You must also demonstrate oral proficiency by reaching a satisfactory standard on the oral examination (telephone exam of approximately 15 minutes). The oral examination is to be completed first. It is marked as PASS/FAIL and no grade is assigned for the oral exam. You must pass the oral exam in order to continue with the challenge. The grade (percentage) for the written exam constitutes the grade for the challenge. The challenge process must be completed within a 3-month period.
