Outline
COMP 700 serves as the last component of the research integration in both the thesis and project routes and is dedicated to the research review and examination. Each examination includes an oral examination in addition to the written report, both of which are assessed by an examination committee.
In COMP 700, students will work with their supervisor to set up the examination committee and submit a final thesis or project report that satisfies the requirements of the program. Once the supervisory committee provides their preliminary acceptance, the supervisor should work with the committee to arrange for the oral examination.
Where applicable, the student is responsible for revising their submitted thesis or project report to satisfy the examination committee’s request for changes. Please refer to the Thesis Handbook and Project Handbook for information about the submission of the final thesis or project report. The student will not be recommended for graduation at Academic Council if the revised thesis or project report is not validated.
Evaluation
To
receive credit for the thesis or project, the student must obtain a
PASS grade for each of the required courses.
Materials
The course materials will be available in electronic format and include a Thesis Handbook that provides guidelines and explains the thesis stages and a Project Handbook that provides guidelines and explains the project stages.
Special Course Features
An oral examination is conducted during COMP 700. An examination committee is required for the oral examination.
Student will be able to apply for graduation only after successfully completing COMP 700.
