Athabasca University Press launches new publishing program for open educational resources

Remix publishes open educational resources by AU academics

Athabasca, Alberta (Jan. 31, 2024)Athabasca University Press has launched a new publishing imprint that expands on the university’s commitment to open access.

Remix publishes open educational resources (OER) written or adapted by Athabasca University (AU) faculty for use in the university’s courses. The new imprint is part of the university’s learning resource strategy.

Remix benefits from the publishing expertise of AU Press, which was founded in 2007. Remix titles are published under a Creative Commons licence and will be freely available from AU Press’s website and through OER repositories. Remix publications differ from traditional university press titles as they do not go through standard peer review.
