Advanced Reading Course (Revision 1)
Delivery Mode: Individualized-Study
Prerequisite: Successful completion of MAIS 601 and MAIS 602, and permission of the Program Director for Integrated Studies. A copy of the learning contract must be filed with the MAIS Program Office.
Program: Master of Arts Integrated Studies
Individual students or small groups of students may conduct readings under a faculty member's supervision in one or two selected areas.
Students are encouraged to select a faculty supervisor from the MA-IS faculty list, approach that faculty member, and ask for assistance in pursuing the topic in which the student is interested. Each name in the MA-IS faculty list is hyperlinked to a page indicating that faculty member’s specific academic expertise and supervisory interests. Students wishing to then enroll in a directed reading course must submit a learning contract (approved by the faculty supervisor) to the Director of the Graduate Program in Integrated Studies.
Athabasca University reserves the right to amend course outlines occasionally and without notice. Courses offered by other delivery methods may vary from their individualized-study counterparts.
Opened in Revision 1, September 1, 2001.
