First steps: how do I begin?

1. Read the PLAR site carefully. Be sure to flip through the sample student e-Portfolios.
2. Refer to our list of frequently asked questions.
3. Contact our office to ask for more information.
4. If you are not already an AU student, complete a General Application Form to become an AU student.
5. If you have attended another college or university have your official transcripts sent through MyCreds to AU's Office of the Registrar and submit the Transcript Evaluation fee.

Next steps: the PLAR process

1. Discuss PLAR potential/suitability. Contact our office.
   • Submit resume and DegreeWorks worksheet (program plan).
2. Enter our mentoring queue (waitlist).
   • Submit front-end pieces as directed.
3. Enter our mentoring process.
   • Revise front-end pieces as directed by a mentor.
   • Submit the application form with payment as directed by a mentor.
   • Finalized learning contract with a mentor.
   • Work with mentors to prepare a portfolio.
4. Submit a complete portfolio.
5. Receive assessment results.
