Assessing your e-Portfolio
When your e-Portfolio is submitted to AU’s Centre for Learning Accreditation, it will be reviewed for completeness and then distributed to the assessors.
Assessors will then review and score your e-Portfolio without consulting with one another.
For program-based submission: Multiple assessors will review your PLAR portfolio content independently, and will each assign a score. Their average scores will guide the assignment of eligible credits where applicable toward your program. View the Chart of credits based on average assessor scores to see how the scores break down into credits, based on the maximum credits available for your program.
For course-based submission: Each competency worksheet will be assessed by a course-content expert. This assessor will determine whether credit as requested is granted or not.
The assessment process can take 3 to 4 months to complete. At the end of the assessment process, you will receive a letter from CLA outlining the PLAR assessment results.
How PLAR assessed credit appears on transcripts
Any credit received through PLAR is listed on your AU transcript as PLAR assessed transfer credit. Credits successfully awarded through PLAR do not receive a letter grade and do not contribute to your grade point average (GPA).
