Important Dates

April 17, 2023 – Registration for Convocation 2023 opens. See information for graduates for details

April 30, 2023 – Deadline to apply for graduation in June. All final grades must be received by the Office of the Registrar, and all program requirements must be completed by this date.

May 31, 2023 – Deadline to register for Convocation 2023

Convocation process

1. Submit application for graduation
   Review your program requirements to verify your eligibility to graduate, submit an application for graduation to the Office of the Registrar and complete all program requirements by April 30, 2023. View the Office of the Registrar's graduation procedures for more information or contact grad-app@athabascau.ca for questions regarding your graduation status.
2. Office of the Registrar confirms eligibility to graduate
   Upon receipt of your application for graduation, the Office of the Registrar will advise you by letter that you are eligible to graduate. The Office of the Registrar mails your parchment on, or shortly after, the graduation date provided in your confirmation letter.
3. Invitation to convocation
   The convocation team receives a list of eligible graduands from the Office of the Registrar and sends you an invitation in the spring via email to participate in convocation. Remember to keep your email address up to date in MyAU and don’t forget to check your junk mail folder!
4. Register for convocation
   You need to register whether you plan to attend in-person or virtually. Details on how to register will be sent to eligible graduates in the spring. Remember to keep your contact information up to date in your myAU account to ensure you receive convocation communications. The registration deadline is May 31, 2023. Late registrations cannot be accommodated.
5. Watch for your grad box
   Whether you decide to participate in convocation or not, all eligible graduands who have applied to graduate will receive a grad box. Your grad box will be mailed via Canada Post during the month of May to the address listed in your MyAU account.
6. Stay informed
   Watch your inbox (and junk mail folder!) or check the convocation website for details and instructions on how to participate in convocation. Follow @athabascau on social media for fun surprises!
