Convocation process

AU graduation process

  1. Submit application for graduation
Verify your eligibility to graduate, submit an application for graduation to the Office of the Registrar and complete all program requirements by April 30, 2022. View the Office of the Registrar's graduation procedures for more information.
  2. Office of the Registrar confirms eligibility to graduate
Upon receipt of your application for graduation, the Office of the Registrar will monitor your progress in AU courses until all final grades are received and advise you by letter that you are eligible to graduate. Your parchment will then be mailed to the address provided on your application.
  3. Invitation to convocation
The Convocation Team receives a list of eligible graduands from the Office of the Registrar and sends you an invitation during the first week of May via email to be a part of the convocation ceremony.
  4. Register for Convocation 2022
This step is important! AU requires your consent if you wish to be included in the presentation of degrees, even if you do not plan on attending the live virtual event. Watch for an invitation during the first week of May from the Convocation Team inviting you to be a part of the ceremony and register before May 31, 2022 to avoid disappointment. Late registrations will not be accommodated as the production of the presentation of degrees is a complex process. Don’t forget to check your junk mail folder.
    Register for convocation here.
  5. Watch for your grad box
Grad boxes will be shipped in May 2022 to all eligible graduands who have applied to graduate. Your grad box will be sent to the mailing address listed on your MyAU account. If you apply to graduate during the month of April 2022, your grad box may not arrive until early June.
  6. Stay informed
