Today’s emerging scholars face a new and rapidly changing academic landscape that presents distinct challenges in both their professional development and knowledge-production practices.
This free micro-course walks emerging scholars through novel and productive ways of approaching work through multi-modal knowledge mobilization.
Discover new knowledge-production strategies via the course’s interactive content, engaging animations, and audio-segments. Learn from the first-hand experiences of established experts and emerging scholars.
This course was developed in partnership with AU’s Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research Centre and is designed and delivered by PowerEDTM.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies is looking for frank input from graduate students in a pilot offering of an online course called: Embracing Allyship and Inclusion.
This self-directed course, offered by PowerED™ by Athabasca University, focuses on developing self-awareness to build stronger and more inclusive workplaces. Through interactive content, animated videos and audio segments, you will be guided to consider perceptions and biases, evaluate your workplace and community, and strengthen your capacity to listen and support those around you. The course should take you 6-8 hours of time to complete core content and activities.
When you are finished, complete a survey with your thoughts, and you will receive a badge that you can share on your social networks.

Research Data Management is a self-directed micro-course, designed to assist emerging scholars with managing research data from start to finish.
Explore data management strategies via the course’s interactive content, engaging animations, and video clips. Learn from the first-hand experiences of experts and emerging scholars. Work through the course at your own pace and schedule - and download the Learning Journal to find reflection questions and professional development activities that you can revisit throughout your researcher’s journey.
