Research funding

Athabasca University offers awards, scholarships, and other funding to support student research. The AU Research Centre also maintains a list of external research funding opportunities.

Graduate Student Research Fund

GSRF funding can support costs associated with meeting community protocols, as well as travel costs, research equipment and incentives to participate in the research. More information

External, provincial, and federal funding programs

Several organizations make awards available to graduate students across Canada, including those awarded through provincial and national competitions by the federal granting agencies: the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
