Athabasca University celebrates the formal installation of President Alex Clark, Thursday, October 12, 2023


About Dr. Alex Clark

Dr. Alex Clark is an internationally known administrator, researcher, and advocate for well-being and effectiveness in academic work and workplaces. A complexity theorist and researcher of psychosocial aspects of heart disease, he has worked in post-secondary education for 20 years in Alberta. He has held faculty and executive roles at the University of Alberta for over a decade, and, most recently, was dean of Health Disciplines at Athabasca University.

President's Award for

Rural Alberta Nursing Students

In celebration of Dr. Alex Clark as AU's 11th president, and inspired by his background in health-care research and as a nurse, we are excited to introduce the President's Award for Rural Alberta Nursing Students. This new award unites two of AU's strengths — our presence in rural and remote communities, and our excellence in nursing education.
