Join the Athabasca University Students’ Union (AUSU) in celebrating Asian Heritage Month with an inspiring and enlightening Speaker Series event featuring Josephine Pon, distinguished guest and advocate for diversity and inclusion.

Elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in April 2019 to serve as Alberta’s Minister of Seniors and Housing, Pon is celebrated for her extensive background in banking and her passionate involvement in community service, including:

  • Previous Regional Manager (Business Development for Multicultural Banking, Scotiabank)
  • Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) as an International Trade Consultant
  • Proactive volunteer with non-profits in Calgary and Edmonton
  • Master of Science in Management from the University of Liverpool

She will address the theme, “Unlocking the Potential of Diversity: How Immigration Strengthens Our Country and Fulfills the Canadian Dream.

This event is curated especially for the undergraduate student members AUSU)but is open to all who are interested in the intersection of immigration, diversity, and the Canadian dream.
