Description:

The 2024 Athabasca University (AU) Graduate Student Research Conference (GSRC) will be a hybrid event, taking place Oct. 25 to 27, 2024 virtually and in Edmonton, Alberta.

This year’s conference theme, “Research with Impact”, calls for research that not only advances knowledge in academia, but also transforms the world into a better place to live. Participants will reflect on their research beyond the academic prism, and will focus on a general context of seeking and sharing solutions to global social, economic, diplomatic, and environmental problems that threaten our collective well-being.

Conference speakers and sessions will focus on the concept of “expanding your research toolkit.” Impactful research can always be expanded upon. No matter what stage or field a researcher is in, anyone can expand their toolkit in different ways—whether it be through mobilization, dissemination, multimedia, funding, or consultation.

Researchers submitting abstracts for the GSRC are challenged to communicate their innovative solutions through various mediums that engage all relevant stakeholders to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, so that no one is left behind.

This year’s hybrid conference will focus on research with impact, and seek to provide ways to enable researchers and presenters to expand their research toolkit beyond what they thought possible.

Stay tuned for updates on registration and the call for abstracts.
