Writer in Residence Michael Winter shares fiction writing advice during first lecture
Renowned author shares writing insight and advice during Writer in Residence workshop
When Michael Winter begins writing, he likes to imagine that he’s talking to one person at the other end of a microphone. There’s an intimacy between fiction writer and reader that comes from sharing a quiet, singular voice.
The hour-long talk was full of tales and lessons from Winter’s life and he uses nuggets of sometimes bizarre or unexpected experiences in the world and to bring new life to his storytelling.
As Writer in Residence, Winter will devote most of his time to writing while also serving as a resource to learners, faculty, and the writing community at large.
Learn how you can get Winters’ feedback on your written work. You can find more about the submission process on the Writer in Residence page.
