Specific activities include, but are not limited to

  • Supporting literature searches and reviews
  • Collaborating on an environmental scan of adult vaccination policies and programs
  • Completing necessary research-related training
  • Participating in regular meetings with the research team
  • Providing support for grant writing (e.g., preparing summaries, formatting documents, editing and proofreading)
  • Opportunities to contribute to the dissemination of preliminary insights (e.g., from the environmental scan)

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field required (e.g., health sciences, social sciences, nursing)
  • Some graduate training in health or social sciences is an asset
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Strong reading and writing skills
  • Interest and/or experience with literature reviews
  • Interest in social equity and health
  • Experience working with relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office, video-conferencing platforms, qualitative data analysis software)

The successful candidate will work with, and directly report to, Dr. Terra Manca at Athabasca University. Dr. Manca’s team will provide training and mentorship for all activities. Depending on project needs and timelines, the successful candidate may have opportunities to gain experience in analyzing qualitative data and in disseminating research results.
