Dr. Sara Dolan is an Assistant Professor in the MHS/MN Program. Her research interests centre around mitigating patient harm through education. Dr. Dolan seeks to understand patient harm and how it might be reduced through innovative education strategies targeted for diverse populations, including healthcare professionals, educators, administrators, patients, and family members. She aims to accomplish this through strategic partnerships and collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Dr. Sara Dolan recently graduated with her PhD in Nursing from the University of Calgary in 2024. She became a nurse in 2010 and practiced in emergency and critical care settings for 11 years. Dr. Dolan has always had a passion for healthcare education and its power to improve patient outcomes. In particular, she has worked on multiple simulation projects to enhance healthcare professionals' understanding of vital topics in practice. Additionally, she is an ardent supporter of interprofessional education and simulation. She believes that healthcare professionals learn best when learning with, from, and about each other while engaging in experiential learning, ultimately creating an environment for safer patient care.
