Beth Perry is Professor in the Faculty of Health Disciplines at the Athabasca University. She received her Ph.D. in 1994 at the University of Alberta. Dr. Perry has presented at more than 200 academic conferences worldwide on topics related to oncology nursing, palliative care nursing, nursing of older adults, and online teaching. Her current research interests include exemplary nursing care, compassion fatigue in nurses and in older adult family caregivers, excellence in online teaching, arts-based teaching strategies, pedagogy of kindness, and humanizing the online learning environment.
Teaching is one of Beth's greatest passions. She especially enjoys supervising thesis students and supporting their learning journeys. Currently she gains immense career fulfillment from mentoring others and finding way to contribute to their success. On a personal level cycling tours, hiking, backpacking, skiing, and gardening are her primary hobbies.
