A Garden of Expression: Call for artists
On World Art Day, April 15, 2026, Athabasca University is hosting an art event exhibition in the Academic Research Centre (ARC) building in Athabasca.
Artists of any age in Athabasca and surrounding communities are invited to express their interest in participating in the Garden of Expression: Cultivating Community Through Art exhibition.
This exhibition will feature the art of local artists and celebrate creativity, growth, and the shared spaces that connect us. Whether inspired by nature, community, or the act of nurturing ideas, the AU Art Committee welcomes artworks that explore how art helps us flourish together.
Artists are asked to indicate the type of artwork they would like to submit by completing the online form. Submissions will be accepted until March 25, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (Mountain).
The exhibition will be featured as one of four World Art Day events on April 15 and will be open on additional scheduled dates up until June 14.
Artwork must be hang-ready, either framed or fitted with appropriate hanging hardware. A small number of pottery/sculpture art pieces can be accommodated, with heights not exceeding 10 inches.
