What grads need to know

Graduates often ask about the difference between applying to graduate and registering for convocation.

Applying for graduation does not automatically register you for convocation. All course work must be completed and submitted, and you must submit your application to graduate by April 30, 2026.

To be part of the convocation ceremonies and have your name and credential announced during the presentation of degrees, you must register to attend. Registration opened on March 2, 2026 and closes on May 31, 2026. Eligible graduates will be contacted after registration opens.

Once you have completed and submitted your registration form online, you will receive an email confirming your registration and responses. If you have any questions,  send an email to the convocation team.

Details on how to register will be emailed to eligible graduates. Remember to keep your contact information up to date in your myAU account to ensure you receive convocation communications.

Everything you need to know about celebrating this special milestone is now available on the Convocation at AU page. Be sure to review it carefully so you’re prepared to celebrate with us this June!
