Update on myAU Bookstore and the Student Learning Resource Fee

As part of the move to increase options for students to purchase or acquire texts and materials for AU courses, we are transitioning to a new fee model. While the full implementation of a myAU bookstore will be in place later next year, some students will see an immediate benefit.

On December 15, Athabasca University approved a new student learning resource fee of $130 (a $50 reduction per course) for undergraduate courses that have no third-party, paid learning resources. Impacted students who preregistered in these specific courses, with start dates of February or later, will receive a $50 refund in the coming weeks. Students in courses with third-party, paid learning resources will not experience any changes to service or fees and will continue to pay the existing $180 until the myAU bookstore is launched.

Graduate learning resource fees are not impacted by this change.
