This course will introduce students to the theory, concepts and practices of program planning, evaluation, and instructional methods in adult education/learning contexts. Program planning is an important practical skill for adult educators whether they are responsible for developing, delivering, administering or evaluating educational programs of any type or duration but needs to be understood within a societal and theoretical context.
The course is presented in six units.
Unit 1 – Introduction
Unit 2 – Examining Program Context
Unit 3 – Defining Program Objectives and Developing Instructional Plans to Meet Them
Unit 4 – Evaluating Programs
Unit 5 – Administering Programs
Unit 6 – Integrating Theory and Practice
To receive credit for EDUC 316, you must achieve a minimum composite course grade of “D” (50 percent) and receive 50% or more on the last assignment.
