How the Research Centre Can Help
The sole focus of the Research Centre is to support basic and applied research at Athabasca University. We make sure you have everything you need to successfully complete your research project.
Services for students
AU recognizes inquiry-based and creative learning and places a high priority on providing research opportunities for students. These include:
- internal grants and awards
- help with applying for external awards
- research assistant positions
Services for faculty and staff
AU offers faculty opportunities for research and innovation across all disciplines. The Research Centre can help you:
- prepare external grant applications and proposals through our Grantsmanship Mentoring Program
- connect with industry
- manage your grant funds
- promote and disseminate your research
We also provide services for intellectual property management and commercialization through our Industry Liaison Officer. We facilitate and monitor contracts with external sponsors and partners in research, and liaise with other institutions on your behalf.
Services for all researchers
The Research Centre facilitates the ethics certification process for research projects involving humans. Researchers can consult with the Research Ethics Officer to help move their application smoothly through the review process.
