Why was online learning at Athabasca University the right fit for you?
Online learning was the perfect fit because it allowed me to study at my own pace while balancing work and family responsibilities. The flexibility gave me the freedom to manage my time effectively without compromising the quality of my education.
How has studying at AU helped you achieve your goals?
Studying at AU has helped me grow both personally and professionally. Academically, it has strengthened my critical-thinking and research skills. Professionally, it has boosted my confidence and provided me with practical knowledge I can immediately apply in my career. Personally, it has shown me that with discipline and determination, I can achieve my goals.
What obstacles have you had to overcome? How did you overcome them?
Balancing work, family, and studies has been my biggest challenge. I overcame this by creating a structured schedule, setting realistic goals, and staying disciplined. The support from my family and AU instructors also helped me stay motivated and on track.
How do you balance your studies with other responsibilities like work or family?
I balance my studies by dedicating specific blocks of time each week solely to coursework. I prioritize tasks, break assignments into manageable steps, and communicate openly with my family about my study needs. This structured approach helps me stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.
Who is your biggest cheerleader?
My biggest cheerleaders are my family and friends. Their encouragement, understanding and belief in my abilities keep me motivated, even during challenging times. Knowing they support my education fuels my determination to succeed.

WGST 333: Goddess Mythology, Women's Spirituality and Ecofeminism
What are your plans for the future after completing your AU program?
After completing my program, I plan to advance in my career and explore opportunities that align with my skills and passions. I am committed to empowering women who are navigating uncertainty in their lives and need guidance and support. My experience with Athabasca University has shown me that with determination and the right encouragement, it is possible to overcome challenges and help others discover their own strength and resilience.
How is your AU education different from what you have experienced previously?
Athabasca University showed me that it’s never too late to rewrite your story.
