Are you curious about AI and would like to know more about it and its impact on the future of work? Athabasca University Faculty of Graduate Studies is inviting participants to enroll in an online summer institute offering Introduction to AI Literacy Webinar Series. This pilot webinar series on AI Literacy is designed to empower learners with a foundational understanding of the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how to develop essential skills needed to navigate this rapidly evolving field.

This webinar series is tailored for learners of all backgrounds, aiming to empower you through key areas of AI literacy outlined in the AI Literacy Framework designed and developed by Dr. Stella Lee. You'll explore the fundamentals of AI and data, hone critical thinking skills, examine diverse applications and ethical considerations, and look ahead to the future of AI-augmented work.

What to Expect:

  • Interactive Learning: Engage with AI concepts with an expert and a community of learners and practitioners.
  • Reflective Approach: Experience learning without pressure through reflection questions and peer-to-peer insights to enhance understanding.

The summer 2025 series include three one-hour webinars facilitated by Dr. Stella Lee as follows:

  • Aug. 20, 11 a.m. to 12 noon (Mountain): Building Blocks - Fundamentals of AI and Data
  • Aug. 27, 11 a.m. to 12 noon (Mountain): Critical Thinking and AI Ethical Considerations
  • Sept. 3, 11 a.m. to 12 noon (Mountain): Future of Work and Diverse Applications/Sectors
