Sheldon Krasowski

Biography

Sheldon Krasowski is from Saskatoon and currently lecturing in the department of Indigenous Studies at First Nations University of Canada. Sheldon received his B.A. in Native Studies from the University of Saskatchewan in 1995 and his M.A. in Native Studies and Canadian Studies from Trent University in 1999 (Thesis title: A Numiany, The Prayer People and the Pagans of Walpole Island First Nation: Resistance to the Anglican Church 1840-1885).

Currently, Sheldon is working on his PhD in history at the University of Regina, focusing on eyewitness accounts of treaty negotiations on the prairies in the late 1800s. Previous teaching appointments include a faculty appointment in First Nations Studies at Malaspina University - College, 2000 - 2002, and sessional lecturer appointments in Native Studies at the University of Saskatchewan 2003 - 2004.

Sheldon recently developed a new course for Athabasca University's Indigenous Studies department titled INST 377: Topics in Aboriginal Government.
