During Trent’s 34 years with the Correctional Service of Canada he has filled various roles at 5 different Institutions, 3 Parole Offices, Regional HQ, National HQ as well as a tour of Duty in Kosovo. Trent spent the major of his career as an operational senior manager.
From the National Honours System, Trent has been awarded the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, NATO Medal for Kosovo, Queens’ Golden Jubilee Medal, Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, King Charles III Coronation Medal, Canadian Decoration, Corrections Exemplary Service Medal with First Bar, and the Alberta Centennial Medal. Trent was also awarded the Alberta Emergency Services Medal and Bronze Bar by the Government of Alberta. Trent was awarded two Commissioner’s Commendations from the Correctional Service of Canada as well as a Director’s Commendation from the Ontario Police College. Trent was appointed and served as the Second National Guard Commander for the Ceremonial Unit of the Correctional Service Canada from March 2019 until the end of September in 2024.
Trent is currently enrolled in the PhD program in the Centre for Military, Security & Strategic Studies at the University of Calgary. Trent’s research focus is transitional justice, policing and peace operations.
