I am the author of two collections of poetry, BELIEVING IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING SAVED (University of Alberta Press, 2017) and ONE CROW SORROW (Brindle & Glass, 2008). HOW TO EXPECT WHAT YOU'RE NOT EXPECTING: STORIES OF PREGNANCY, PARENTHOOD, AND LOSS (Touchwood Editions, 2013), the anthology of literary essays by Canadian writers that I co-edited with Jessica Hiemstra, won a Bronze Medal in the International IPPY (Independent Publishers) Awards in 2015. My own work has won or been shortlisted for awards including the National Magazine Award for Personal Journalism (2019, 2012), the Writers' Guild of Alberta's Stephan G. Stephansson Award for Poetry (2018, 2009), and the City of Edmonton Book Prize (2018). I am currently a PhD Candidate and Killam Arts Laureate in the Department of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta.
