Leadership in the Clinical Teaching and Learning Environment: Practical Nurses to Baccalaureate Nurse Transformational Experience
Overview
This research position will support my program of research over the next year. My program of research focuses on examining leadership in the clinical teaching and learning environment.
Specific activities include, but are not limited to
The first project involves conducting a literature review and developing data collection tools to examine preceptor leadership in the clinical teaching and learning environment, to form the foundation for other projects to follow.
The primary job duties for the research assistant (RA-2, GRA-1, or GRA-2) will include work such as conducting literature reviews, preparing grant applications and research ethics board applications, and managing research data. There may be opportunities to be involved in data analysis and manuscript preparation.
The successful candidate will work with, and directly report to, Dr. Venise Bryan at Athabasca University. Dr. Bryan will provide adequate training for all activities including literature searches, data management, analysis, and writing (grant preparation, manuscript preparation, ethics applications) that will be required. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in many aspects of conducting research.
This is a casual position with flexibility in hours and the potential to last up to December 2022. Rate of pay commensurate with experience and collective agreement provisions. All duties can be completed remotely.
Qualifications
- Nursing or other healthcare provider background
- Undergraduate degree required
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Experience with manuscript preparation and literature reviews
- Completion of TCPS 2.0 CORE module an asset
- Previous research experience preferred.
