Where to Write
If you live within 100km of an AU Approved Invigilator, you are required to write your exam at that location. Find an invigilator.
If you do not live within 100km of an AU Approved Invigilator, you can propose a new invigilator, however your request must be submitted a minimum of 60 days prior to your exam write date.
Before Requesting an Exam
Unless you are writing at an AU exam centre (Calgary, or Edmonton), you must contact the Invigilation Centre to make an appointment, confirm the time required, and discuss applicable fees before you submit your exam request to AU. This is not automatically done for you.
If you are planning to write an an AU exam centre (Calgary or Edmonton), we require a minimum of 10 days notice when booking the appointment. Please note: If you would like to write your exam the last week of the month, it is recommended you book a month in advance as timeslots close to the end of the month are in higher demand.
Requesting your Exam
Once you have booked an appointment with your invigilator, you are ready to submit an exam request. This can be done in two ways:
If you are preparing to write an exam at an AU-approved invigilation centre within Canada or the United States, the Examination Request must be received by AU a minimum of twenty (20) days before the requested write date.
If you will be writing your exam at an AU-approved invigilation centre outside Canada or the United States, your request must be received a minimum of thirty (30) days before the requested write date.
If you have submitted an invigilator for AU approval, your request must be received a minimum of sixty (60) days before the requested write date.
More information: Requesting an exam.
Late Exam Requests
Exam requests received outside the deadlines above will be accepted and processed as a Late Exam request (with the exception of supplemental exams). The late request must be made before the student's course contract end date, and the exam must be written within 30 days after the end date. A fee will be charged for this service.
