Our closest match to your question:

Can I get credit for a course by challenging it?

The Challenge for Credit option allows you to demonstrate that you are proficient in the subject matter of a specific AU course without having to complete the entire course. Using a predetermined process, this option allows you to challenge courses based on your knowledge of the course content. The course syllabus indicates whether a course is eligible for challenge. The appropriate faculty approval is required to challenge a course. Students must submit a completed Undergraduate Challenge for Credit Course Registration Form to register for a Challenge for Credit course.

You are permitted only one registration in each challenge for credit course. In order to receive credit for a failed challenge course, you must register in and successfully complete the course by the traditional method (either by individualized study, or if available, grouped study).

At this time, challenge for credit applications are not available online. After you have received permission to challenge a course for credit, you must complete the Undergraduate Challenge for Credit Course Registration Form and submit it by one of the methods listed on the form.
