Specific activities include, but are not limited to:
This project is funded by the Engaging Partners in Industry and Community initiative of Athabasca University and intended to build partnership with rural healthcare/wellness centres in Alberta.
The primary job duties for the field research assistant Research Assistant [AUPE - 3] will include 1) traveling with the researcher to rural communities for building partnership; 2) conducting data collection from websites regarding rural health care and wellness policies, reports and other online postings, and independently analyzing.
The successful candidate will work with, and directly report to, Dr. Eric Wang at Athabasca University. Dr. Wang will provide adequate training.
Qualifications:
A successful applicant should have the following skills:
- Master degree or current graduate student in accounting, statistics, finance, sociology or library science or related field
- Statistical analysis at the level of MGSC301 Statistics for Business and Economics or MATH215 Introduction to Statistics or equivalent;
- Effective and efficient in conducting online data collection;
- Comprehensive knowledge of and living experience in rural communities of Alberta;
- Good and safe driving skills and experience on Alberta’s range and township roads;
- Effective communications
the position requires both being in rural communities and remote work.
