Dr. Kam Jugdev is a Professor in the Faculty of Business, specializing in project management and strategy. She joined Athabasca University in 2003 after a career as a project manager.
Supporting Students: Dr. Jugdev works closely with students at the undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral levels. She supervises doctoral dissertations and serves on committees at AU and international universities. One of her greatest professional satisfactions is mentoring students as they develop and flourish throughout their programs in AU's online learning environment. Students can expect clear guidance and supportive mentoring in navigating both coursework and research challenges. She helps students develop critical thinking, evidence-based analysis, and systematic problem-solving skills. She teaches and manages courses, including Introduction to Project Management (MGSC 205), Essentials of Project Management (EEPM 675), and the DBA Orientation (DDBA 000). She is also the Academic Area Manager for the MBA Primary Business Research Design Project (CAPS 696).
Research: Dr. Jugdev is an active researcher examining project management from strategic and operational levels. She particularly enjoys the collaborative nature of research and co-authors with international colleagues. She has secured over $332,000 in research funding and publishes in leading journals, including the International Journal of Project Management, Project Management Journal, and International Journal of Managing Projects in Business.
Professional Background: Dr. Jugdev holds a joint PhD from the University of Calgary's Schulich School of Engineering and Haskayne School of Business, and is a Project Management Professional (PMP®). She serves as a collections editor for applied management books. When not working, she enjoys unwinding, reading action and spy novels.
