Supply Chain Management Certificate of Completion
The Supply Chain Management certificate of completion will no longer be awarded, effective May 1, 2024. If you plan to earn the certificate, all courses must be completed by this date. The Supply Chain Management certificate of completion is closed to new admissions as of April 6, 2023.

You will explore all aspects of supply chain management (SCM) strategy in your organization including:
- relationships between logistics and SCM
- supply chain mapping
- performance measurement using a balanced scorecard
- implementation of supply chain management
Supply chain managers are in a natural position to spearhead sustainability initiatives by using resources to meet current needs without compromising the ability to meet future needs. You will examine traditional industry models as well as new concepts such as value constellations and business ecosystems.
What will you learn?
You will gain understanding, knowledge, and fluency in:
- Purposes and methods of supply chain mapping; how supply chain mapping differs from process mapping.
- Introductory logistics with special emphasis on integrated logistics and logistics outsourcing.
- Issues related to developing sustainable (green) supply chains.
- Principles and scope of the triple bottom line (environmental, economic, and social).
- Types of 3PLs, relationships with 3PLs and 4PLs.
- Upstream (purchasing) and downstream (marketing and distribution) issues.
- Change management strategies to implement effective change in your organization.
- Appraising organizational resources and conducting industry analysis using strategy frameworks.
Program structure
The Supply Chain Management Certificate of Completion is made up of 8 online courses worth 1 graduate-level credit each. All courses are paced, with scheduled start and end dates and assignment deadlines. Courses are asynchronous, so you never have to be online at a specific time.
You can take the courses in any order, but you must complete all 8 to earn the certificate of completion.
Earn transfer credit
Completing your SCMCC will give you a head start on other AU programs.
Master of Business Administration
If you want to pursue your Master of Business Administration (MBA) for Supply Chain Managers, 3 SCMCC courses may transfer for one 3-credit online elective in our online MBA for executives program. You must meet the entry requirements and be accepted into the MBA to receive this credit.
Fees
The following fees are effective for courses starting September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2024. All fees are quoted in Canadian dollars and are subject to change. Academic-related fees are exempt from the Federal Goods and Services Tax (G.S.T.). G.S.T. is added to all other goods and services, for example, workshops, some publications, self-help seminars, and Athabasca University promotional sales items.
Each Leadership and Management Development course is $1,248 + $13 Graduate Student Association fee for a total of $1,261.
All AU alumni who earned a degree with AU are eligible to receive a 20% discount.
