What is the definition of an online course? There are existing definitions but none, until now, that addresses the unique nature of the individualized course delivery system at Athabasca University. Students need to know what to expect when they enrol in online courses; faculty and staff need to know what is expected of them in anticipating and operationalizing courses for online delivery. From an administrative perspective—project management, allocating resources, monitoring and tracking progress—a common language is needed to understand the exact nature of online course offerings at Athabasca University.
