Strategic Partnerships

Athabasca University has formed more than a hundred partnerships with colleges, universities, associations, training bodies and the private sector. In addition to the numerous articulation agreements are some strategic alliances, which will be central to the development of the University in the coming decade:
Teluq
AU's strategic agreement with Télé-université
du Québec greatly enhances services offered
to bilingual and Francophone students. The agreement
gives every Athabasca University student access to all
Teluq courses and services, and vice-versa; automatic
meeting of residency requirement; and waiving of additional
fees that normally accrue when students take courses
from other institutions. More information is available
on a separate
page.
CVU
AU is a founding member of Canadian Virtual University, an alliance of thirteen Canadian leaders in university distance education. Working together, the members of the CVU will in coming years greatly expand the learning opportunities available through distance education.
Universidad de Monterrey
An agreement was signed in September 2000 with Universidad de Monterrey, Mexico, to work on collaboration including a masters degree in distance education and individualized undergraduate education for interested UM students.
Soochow University
An agreement is being forged with Soochow University to facilitate educational, technological and cultural development between China, Canada, AU, BUAA, and DELCL. Delivery of the BAdmin in China, in association with Soochow, has already got under way, with Economics 246 being delivered to a cohort of 24 students from Taiwan.

Other Alliances
A number of additional international alliances are currently being negotiated, and a wide variety of Canadian partnerships continue to strengthen. Further details of the range of collaborations can be found at http://www.athabascau.ca/collab/collab.php.
