Tuition and Funding
Fees for AU courses and academic-related fees are published in the Athabasca University Calendar, Abridged Version and online.
Fees are effective from September 1 to August 31 of the following year.
Payment must be made at the time of registration.
If registering online, you can pay fees by: Visa®, MasterCard® or American Express® credit card.
If registering by mail or in person, you can pay fees by: cheque or money order (make cheque or money order payable to Athabasca University) or student finance certificate.
When submitting fees by Visa®, MasterCard® or American Express®, indicate the specific fee being paid (e.g. admission fee, evaluation fee, etc.). A credit card payment processing form is included with the Undergraduate General Application Form and the Undergraduate Course Registration Form.
Interac is available at the offices at Athabasca University – Central, Athabasca University – Calgary, and Athabasca University – Edmonton.
To avoid duplication of charges or processing do not mail original documentation after you have registered by fax, and do not fax requests that have already been submitted using the University’s online system.
Financial assistance may be available to part-time and full-time Canadian students from their Provincial funding agency.
Students with disabilities can visit the Access to Students with Disabilities website to learn about funding sources.
There are many different ways to finance your education. You need to investigate each option and decide which is best for you. For more information, see this article How to Finance My Education.
