Financial Reporting (FinRpt)
The
mission of Financial Reporting unit is to provide and manage
reliable
financial information through relevant and timely financial reports,
and advice
by means of related internal services, to all levels of the University
community and its stakeholders.
- the
production of monthly, year-end
audited financial statements, variance and
ad hoc financial reports to all levels of management.
- analytical
review of statements involving
the evaluation of material variances from approved budget for variance
and forecast.
- the promotion
of accountability and the
stewardship of resources.
- providing
support to decision-making by
all levels of governance.
- seeking out
process change(s) to gain
efficiencies and value in reports.
- responding
to internal requests for information in a timely manner.
- handling the
reporting requirements of
various funding sources (such as general operations, special purpose
grants and or sponsored research) in an effective manner: reliable,
concise and on time.
- coordinating
financial activities of
review, monitor and analyze data.
- the
verification of financial information,
and the development of appropriate reporting forms.

include; Alberta Learning
conditional operating and one-time grants, Alberta Infrastructure
capital templates, Alberta Learning Financial Information Reporting
System [FIRS], Canadian Association of
University Business Officers [CAUBO] annual report, Research Grants
(CFI, CRC, SSHRC, NERSC) and Special Purpose or Project accounts.

maintenance of functional and data
integrity in FIS general ledger.
- coordinating
system changes required to
facilitate the management and reporting of financial data.
- participating
in the design of financial
report formats.
