Mathematics 270: Linear Algebra I is a three-credit, introductory-level course designed to introduce students to matrix arithmetic, determinants, vectors, vector arithmetic and algebra, general linear vector spaces, and linear programming.
Although there are no formal prerequisites for enrollment in this course, we recommend that students be familiar with senior-level high school mathematics; for example, Alberta’s Grade 12 “Math 30” course. Without such a background, students will find it difficult, although not impossible, to achieve a passing grade in Mathematics 270.
The Student Manual contains information that will help you complete Mathematics 270 successfully. Please read the Student Manual carefully, and keep it in a safe place.
