Objectives

After completing this unit, you should be able to

1. define the terms “relation,” “function,” “domain” and “range,” and describe each of these mathematical concepts.
2. evaluate algebraic expressions expressed as functions.
3. evaluate expressions involving functional algebra (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, composition).
4. define the terms “one-to one function” and “inverse function,” and use these functions in algebraic or graphical form.
