Students who approach their studies in a systematic and organized manner are more likely to complete their courses successfully than are those who do not plan a strategy for themselves. Therefore, we advise that you follow a study schedule to assist you in budgeting your time and scheduling your progress.

The following schedule is designed to help you organize your activities and complete the course in approximately eighteen weeks.

Week Activity
1 Read the Student Manual carefully, and look over the other course materials.
  Call your tutor, if he or she has not already called you.
  Begin Unit 1: From Colonialism to Indian Self-government
2-5 Complete Unit 1. Call your tutor to discuss Tutor-marked Exercise 1, which is included in the Student Manual.
6 Complete Tutor-marked Exercise 1 and mail it to your tutor for evaluation and comments. Be sure to include a tutor-marked exercise form with your completed assignment, and to keep a copy of your work.
7-9 Complete Unit 2: Aboriginal People in Northern Canada.
  Call your tutor if you have any difficulty or if you wish to discuss Tutor-marked Exercise 1, which should have been returned to you.
  Call your tutor to discuss Tutor-marked Exercise 2, which is included in the Student Manual.
10 Complete Tutor-marked Exercise 2 and mail it to your tutor for evaluation and comments. Be sure to include a tutor-marked exercise form with your completed assignment, and to keep a copy of your work.
11-13 Complete Unit 3: Aboriginal Land Claims
  Call your tutor if you have any difficulty or if you wish to discuss Tutor-marked Exercise 2, which should have been returned to you.
  Call your tutor to discuss Tutor-marked Exercise 3, which is included in the Student Manual.
14 Complete Tutor-marked Exercise 3 and mail it to your tutor for evaluation and comments. Be sure to include a tutor-marked exercise form with your completed assignment, and to keep a copy of your work.
15-16 Review Units 1-3 in preparation for the final examination.
  Call your tutor to discuss your readiness to write the final examination.
  Request the final examination.
17 Study for the final examination.
  Call your tutor if you have any difficulty or if you wish to discuss Tutor-marked Exercise 3, which should have been returned to you.
  Call the examination supervisor to confirm the arrival of the final examination.
18 Study for and write the final examination.
  Congratulations on completing the course.
