Part One: Course Pamphlet
The Role of the Student
Students have a contractual obligation to meet the requirements
of the course as stipulated in the learning contract. Yet students'
learning will not be limited to the contractual agreement's requirements.
Through Directed Readings I, as with any independent study course,
students will learn valuable research techniques and strategies
such as selection, time management and information organisation.
Moreover, students will learn about their own learning styles and
practices, as well as where and how to improve them. Most importantly,
however, students will get as much out of an independent study course
as they put in.
