Part One: Course Pamphlet

Introduction

This Course Pamphlet introduces students to an independent study course, what a directed readings course in the Human Services involves, and the roles and responsibilities of the program coordinator, directed readings supervisor, and student. It describes the learning contract, a directed readings proposal and how students apply to enrol in the course. It also provides the method of evaluation, a recommended schedule of events, and contact names for further information. In effect, the Course Pamphlet makes up Part One of the Student Manual in Directed Readings I: Topics in the Human Services. Once students' application to enrol in HSRV 433 has been accepted by the Program Coordinator, students register in the course, and then receive the Student Manual. Part One of the Student Manual is the same as this Course Pamphlet.
