History 367/Global Studies 367 is a three-credit (one-semester) course designed to be completed in eighteen weeks. Students registered in the individualized-study version of the course have a six-month contract, but we recommend that they attempt to follow the eighteen-week schedule suggested below, thereby keeping some time in reserve for unexpected delays or emergencies.

Note: Students who are receiving educational funding may be required to complete their studies within a shortened time limit. If you are receiving funding from any source, please check the details of your obligations and adjust your personal study schedule accordingly.

Week 1 Read the Student Manual carefully, and become familiar with the Study Guide for the course. Contact your tutor to introduce yourself. Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 1.
Week 2 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 2. Begin the preparatory work necessary to do the first written assignment.
Week 3 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 3.
Week 4 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 4.
Week 5 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 5.
Week 6 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 6.
Week 7 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 7.
Week 8 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 8.
Week 9 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 9.
Week 10 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 10.
Week 11 Write Assignment 1 and submit your work to your tutor for grading and feedback. Remember to keep a copy for your files. Be sure to enclose a tutor-marked exercise form with your completed assignment.
Week 12 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 11. Begin the preparatory work necessary to write your research essay.
Week 13 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 12.
Week 14 Complete the reading and viewing assignments for Unit 13.
Week 15 Continue working on your research essay. Apply to write the final examination. See the section of the Student Manual titled “Procedures for Applying for and Writing Examinations.”
Week 16 Write your research essay and submit it to your tutor for grading and feedback. Remember to keep a copy for your files. Be sure to enclose a tutor-marked exercise form.
Week 17 Review for the final examination, including telephoning your tutor for a pre-examination review.
Week 18 Write the final examination.
