Social Pluralism, Cultural Politics,
and Heritage
After the 1969 Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism issued its reports, new federal agencies were established to develop policy and programs for cultural development and for the preservation of traditional practices, languages, artifacts, and other material heritage.
