Final Oral Examination

The final oral examination is to be done with your tutor on the telephone, just as you have done the Tutor Marked Oral Exercises (TMOEs). During the examination your tutor will ask you 20 conversational questions in German. Some of these questions will be the same as those practiced in the Freies Gespräch portion of the TMOEs. Some will use the vocabulary from the Deutschbuch Übungen, Video-Ecke, and Hören Sie zu sections of the TMOEs. You will not be examined on factual material (Was isst Dirk nicht gern?) from the videos or CDs. This first part of the examination is worth 40 points.

The second part of the final oral examination is the reading aloud of the first two paragraphs of the essay “Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten” on page 193 of the textbook. And, yes, you do have to read the title! Listen to CD 4, Track 4 to prepare. This part of the examination is worth 40 points.
