Students in English 482 are evaluated on the basis of five written assignments. All assignments must be successfully completed for students to pass this course.

Assignment 1: First chapter or story (1500 to 2000 words) 15%
Assignment 2: Part I: Critique of a posting by a fellow student  5%
Assignment 2: Part II: Critique of a different student’s paper OR an outline for a proposed novel  5%
Assignment 3: Chapter or Story (2000 to 2500 words) 25%
Assignment 4: Chapter or Story (2500 to 3000 words) 30%
Assignment 5: Revision of Assignment 1, 3, or 4 20%
