This course has been structured around Jack Hodgins’ book A Passion for Narrative—a text that has been chosen for its lucid, detailed, no-nonsense approach to the art and craft of writing effective, compelling fiction. As you work through the course, you will be reading chapters from A Passion for Narrative, short stories in Canadian Short Stories, stories from the Reading File and commentary in the Study Guide. In some weeks you will be working on writing assignments.
