Your final grade in the course will be determined on the basis of the marks achieved for the following assigned activities:
Diagnostic Assignment—10%
Your first assignment requires you to respond in about 750 words to a work on the course. It should be submitted to your tutor at the end of your first month in the course so that any problems in reading or writing skills may be identified quickly and remedied. The mark for this assignment will constitute ten per cent of the final grade.
Two Essays—25% each
You are required to submit two formal essays of 1500-2000 words each to your tutor for assessment. Each essay is worth twenty-five per cent of the final grade. You are advised to submit the first essay when you are about half-way through the course, and to wait for tutor feedback before beginning the second essay.
