Welcome to Anthropology 362: Aboriginal Cultures of North America. This course provides an introduction to the study of North American Aboriginal peoples: Indian, Inuit, and Metis. As the subject matter of Anthropology 362 includes Aboriginal social organization and traditions, an introductory course in cultural or social anthropology is a prerequisite for this course.

Anthropology 362 is divided into eleven units: the first unit introduces the discipline of anthropology, which studies Aboriginal cultures; the next nine units focus on Aboriginal societies in different parts of the continent; and the final unit examines issues facing First Nations communities today.
