Students who approach their studies in a systematic and organized manner are more likely to complete their courses successfully than are those who do not plan how to proceed. We advise you, therefore, to use a study schedule to assist you in budgeting your time and scheduling your progress. The following study schedule is designed to help you organize your activities and complete the course in 21 weeks.

Be sure to contact your tutor if you have difficulty with the material, or if you are unable to adhere to the schedule as suggested. You may, of course, proceed more quickly or more slowly than is suggested by this study schedule. If you find that you cannot complete the course within your course contract period, consult the current Athabasca University Calendar for information about obtaining an extension.

2 Complete Unit 1.
  Prepare for the telephone quiz.
  Contact your tutor to take the telephone quiz.
3 Begin Unit 2.
4 Complete Unit 2.
  Begin Unit 3.
5 Complete Unit 3.
6 Begin Unit 4.
7 Complete Unit 4.
  Contact the Office of the Registrar to request the midterm examination.
8 Begin Unit 5.
9 Complete Unit 5. Begin the first tutor-marked assignment.
10 Complete the first tutor-marked assignment, and submit it to your tutor for grading. Remember to include a tutor-marked exercise form, from the course package, and to keep a copy of your work.
  Study for the midterm examination.
11 Study for and write the midterm examination.
12 Begin Unit 6.
13 Complete Unit 6.
  Begin Unit 7.
14 Complete Unit 7.
